Dinie Boogaart's paintings need space and it is not just the formats that play a role in this. Above all, it is the beautiful , warm, contrasting colours that make her powerfully rendered figures so prominent that they take possession of their surroundings. These glowing colours are achieved by constantly applying glazing layers on top of each other. She makes extensive use of complementary colour contrasts.
